St. Martin’s Ellisfield, part of the benefice of Farleigh, Candover and Wield

The origins of the present building date back to the second half of the 13th Century,
although extensive re-building took place in the 19th Century. An interesting list of
incumbents from 1284 to the present day can be found in the entrance porch. A more
detailed history of the church, called Aelle's Field, is also available there, price £1
written by The Rev. Tom Kime, a former Rector.

There are other activities from time to time in the parish including Christian basics courses such as the Alpha course – please contact the clergy for further details.

Services take place in a monthly cycle with St. Leonard’s Cliddesden, All Saints Dummer and St. Andew’s Farleigh Wallop as follows:

8.00 a.m. Holy Communion (BCP*): first and third Sunday of the month at Ellisfield, second Sunday at Dummer.

9.45 a.m. Holy Communion (CW*) first Sunday Cliddesden, second Sunday, Ellisfield, Third and fourth Sunday, Dummer.

11.15 a.m. Family Service, first Sunday Dummer, second Sunday (Family Communion) Cliddesden, third Sunday Cliddesden, fourth Sunday Ellisfield.

6.00 p.m. fourth Saturday Holy Communion (BCP*) Cliddesden

Fifth Sunday, united service at 11.00 a.m. St. Andrew’s Farleigh Wallop

*BCP = Book of Common Prayer CW = Common Worship
